Ms. Shreya Shetty, MASLP is a Speech Language Pathologist specializing in autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and Paediatric speech Language disorders. She has been practicing as a clinician for 17years. She is also the Founder director of Vivikta clinic for speech therapy and occupational therapy and Cofounder of Evolve paediatric therapy services , Bangalore . She has also worked as a Lecturer in the Department of Speech Language Pathology at JSS institute of Speech and hearing Mysore and visting faculty in few other speech and hearing institutes . Her clincal certifications includes Hanen More than words & Talkability ( Hanen centre , Canada ) , Oral Placement therapy ( Talktools , USA) , PROMPT , PECS , Social thinking and so on

ABOUT THE TOPIC – PLAY
The experience of play changes the connections of the neurons at the front end of your brain and without the experience of play, those neurons aren’t changed as said by SergioPellis (a Professor of Behavioral Neuroscience at the University of Lethbridge) Through play ,children become more competent in their language use and begin to regulate their own thought processes. —Vygotsky (psychologist) By the end of this presentation the participants will be able to:
- Understand what is play and also identify the major stages of play development in children
- Importance of play in speech, language and pragmatic skills.
- The parental role in incorporating Play in daily routines.
